Manager Capacity Planning & Energy Optimisation (f/m/d)

Your Role

As the Capacity Planning & Energy Optimisation Manager (f/m/d), you will oversee the energy provision and capacity management for Digital Realty data centers, ensuring safe operations, optimal energy usage, and cost efficiency. Responsibilities include substation planning, energy distribution systems, energy optimization, and compliance with local regulations (e.g., EnEffG in Germany). You will also review and approve changes to live Data Centers energy systems.

You will lead the Capacity & Energy team to handle capacity requests (space, power, cooling) for new customer contracts and provide guidance on energy consumption budgeting and forecasting to the DACH Finance team. Collaboration with various departments, including Operations, Design, Engineering, and Compliance, is key, as well as international coordination with EMEA Energy Management and external service providers.

Your Profile:

  • Expertise in data center infrastructure (power, cooling, cabling, server/storage)
  • Experience with large-scale technical systems, preferably in DC technology
  • Knowledge of electric utilities, energy data analysis, and electric tariffs
  • Skills in Big Data Analytics, AI modeling, and forecasting
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis experience
  • Leadership experience in matrix organizations and team development
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, international environment
  • Fluent in German and English
